On the eve of the 79th anniversary of the academy's founding, the unveiling ceremony of the "Zuo Lin Building" was held at Shanghai Theatre Academy.
The "Zuo Lin Building" is a building primarily used for administrative offices at the Huashan Road campus. After the first phase of the major renovation project at the Huashan Road campus, it has appeared on campus with a new look and is named after Mr Huang Zuolin, one of the founding pioneers of the academy. Currently, the "Zuo Lin Building" houses nine functional offices, including the Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, Research Office, Creative Center and Journal Center, as well as three teaching units: the Department of Dramatic Literature, Department of Directing and the School of Marxism. It is one of the core buildings on the campus.
The core buildings of the Huashan Road campus are mostly named after the five famous dramatists who were instrumental in the founding of the academy. With the naming of the "Zuo Lin Building", the five pioneers are once again "gathered" at Shanghai Theatre Academy.
The unveiling ceremony of the "Zuo Lin Building" was attended by Xie Wei, Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Xu Yong, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, Huang Haiqin, daughter of Mr Huang Zuolin, and representatives of teachers and students.
