On the afternoon of 28 November, Shanghai Theatre Academy and Hongkou District held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Li Qian, Party Secretary of Hongkou District, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Lu Ming, Deputy Party Secretary and District Mayor of Hongkou District, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Xu Yong, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Wu Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of CPC Hongkou District Committee, attended the ceremony. Wu Weiping, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Hongkou District Committee and Deputy District Mayor of Hongkou District, presided over the ceremony.
Hongkou is the birthplace of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and the agreement signing between Shanghai Theatre Academy and Hongkou District holds extraordinary significance.
Xie Wei expressed gratitude to Hongkou District for its long-term care, support and assistance to the academy. He stated that Shanghai Theatre Academy and Hongkou have a deep connection, a solid foundation, and promising prospects. In the new era and on the new journey, Shanghai Theatre Academy will closely align with national development strategies, fully leverage its own advantages, and use the cooperation framework agreement as a guide. The academy will organically combine Hongkou's regional advantages and the academy's high-quality resources to strengthen cooperation in areas such as academic research, red culture, artistic creation, resource integration and basic education, and will work together with Hongkou to nurture a batch of influential cultural projects, so as to better serve society and Shanghai. He expressed the hope that both parties will work hand in hand to write a new chapter in district-academy cooperation.
Li Qian stated that Hongkou District will base its efforts on its mission and vision, closely integrate with the construction of the "Three Cultural Lands," and strengthen district-academy cooperation to jointly create literary and artistic works with contemporary characteristics and Hongkou features, and jointly promote the high-quality development of cultural undertakings and industries. Both parties should deepen cooperation fields, leverage their respective advantages, and increase cooperation in areas such as the creation of literary and artistic works, the construction of artistic spaces, talent aggregation, and international cultural exchanges. This will allow culture to be deeply rooted in Hongkou, making it observable, tangible and perceptible. Both parties should optimize cooperation mechanisms, increase interactions and exchanges, and ensure that every cooperation project is implemented effectively, so as to jointly create the "Hongkou Model" and "Exemplary University" in the best practice area for Xi Jinping's cultural thoughts.
On the day of the agreement signing, Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Zhou Ying’e, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and some members of the middle management team also made a special visit to the initial campus of the academy during its founding period, which is now the Experimental Middle School of Hongkou District Education Institute located at Hengbang Bridge. At this birthplace of the academy, they carefully searched for traces of the academy's early days, touching the original intentions of the founding pioneers in every brick and tile.
Exhibitions such as "Listening to the Tides of Shanghai, Radiant Lights—North Sichuan Road and the Inception of Chinese Cinema" at Jinchao Lane #8 in Hongkou District, and the Zhapu Road Film Street, etc. It also allowed everyone to feel the historical origins of Shanghai Theatre Academy's beginnings on this land from the cultural heritage of Hongkou.
