STA’s International Students Achieve Great Success in the 2nd International Student Chinese Story Telling Competition on “Enjoy Reading China”

On 23 November, the semifinals and finals of the 2nd International Student Chinese Story Telling Competition on “Enjoy Reading China” were held at Shanghai Normal University. A total of 44 universities submitted 140 entries (111 individual works and 29 group works), with 202 participants. After expert evaluation, 70 works by 107 contestants from 39 countries advanced to the offline semifinals and finals.


Three teams from our university advanced to the semifinals: Lenard Chang (a Class of 2024 undergraduate student majoring in Musical Theatre in the Acting Department) and Angga Yudhistira (a Class of 2022 master's student in Intercultural Communication) in the individual category, and Kiong Xin Xi (a Class of 2024 master's student in Hosting Arts at the College of Film), Roman Olavarria (a Class of 2024 master's student in Intercultural Communication), and Zerin Moirangthem (a Class of 2023 master's student in Intercultural Communication) in the group category.

These three groups of students performed exceptionally well in the semifinals and finals, showcasing the standards and style of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and ultimately won the following awards:


Lenard Chang - First Prize in the Individual Category

Angga Yudhistira - Second Prize in the Individual Category

Kiong Xin Xi, Roman Olavarria, Zerin Moirangthem - First Prize in the Group Category

Additionally, Fei Yong and Zou Haoping received the Excellent Instructor Award, and Zou Haoping also received the Excellent Team Leader Award.
