The "Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought and Shanghai's Arts Management Innovation" seminar and the first "Contemporary Arts Management Paper Award" selection event were held at the Shanghai Theatre Academy

The event was organized by the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and hosted by the editorial department of "Arts Management (Chinese and English)". The seminar and award selection took place recently at the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

The first "Contemporary Arts Management Paper Award" was jointly initiated by the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House. It aims to review the achievements in the construction of China's culture and arts management discipline in recent years, gather theoretical strength, spread academic brands, and promote outstanding works in culture and arts management research.


The selection committee, composed of the editorial board of "Arts Management (Chinese and English)" and industry experts, evaluated the submitted papers based on their academic value and methodological significance, as well as data on reprints and citations from sources like China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). A total of 25 winning papers were selected for the first "Contemporary Arts Management Paper Award". The authors of these papers come from more than 10 universities and research institutions, spanning three generations of scholars.


At the award ceremony, Wu Di, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House, announced the list of winners. Liu Qing, Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy; Chen Linlin, Director of the Media Supervision Division of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee; Li Binghua, Director of the Market Management Division of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism; Hou Peidong, Party Secretary and President of the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House; and Feng Lin, Deputy Director and Editor of the Humanities Editorial Department of the China Renmin University Press, presented the award certificates to the author representatives present.

During the keynote speeches and special discussion sessions, experts and scholars gathered to express their views and engage in thorough discussions and exchanges on cutting-edge topics in China's culture and arts management from various dimensions and perspectives. The event was marked by flashes of insightful thoughts and sparks of wisdom. The attendees focused on the main topic of "Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought and Shanghai's Arts Management Innovation", discussing issues such as the reform of cultural systems and mechanisms in the process of Chinese-style modernization, new experiences and trends in the development of Shanghai's culture and arts management in the new era, the empowerment of culture and arts management innovation through digital intelligence technology, the role of the cultural and tourism industry in rural revitalization and urban renewal, and the development of the arts management discipline and academic journal construction in the context of new liberal arts.The management of Chinese culture and arts under the guidance of Xi Jinping's cultural thought was explained through a combination of macro and micro perspectives, theory and practice, and qualitative and quantitative approaches. It showcased the forefront of culture and arts management development both domestically and internationally from various aspects, directly addressing the numerous issues faced by the development of the arts management discipline and the practice of Chinese culture and arts management.


Dong Feng, the executive editor-in-chief of "Arts Management (Chinese-English)" and a professor at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, fully affirmed the academic achievements of this seminar and looked forward to in-depth cooperation among the attending experts in the field of culture and arts management. He stated that "Arts Management (Chinese-English)" will further play its role as an academic journal, providing a platform for exchange and display for the academic development of Chinese culture and arts management.

More than 40 experts and scholars from over 20 universities, research institutions, and media outlets, including the Shanghai Theatre Academy, the Renmin University of China Book and Newspaper Information Center, Wuhan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, Southwest Minzu University, China Conservatory of Music, Shanghai University, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Inner Mongolia Arts University, Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Culture and Tourism Development, Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Culture and Arts Research, China Art Newspaper, China Culture Daily, and Wenhui Daily, attended the event.
