The Launch Meeting of the Three-Year Action Plan for Curriculum and Textbook Construction at Shanghai Theatre Academy was held

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the National Education Conference, and to continuously enhance the effectiveness of curriculum and textbook construction at Shanghai Theatre Academy, the "Three-Year Action Plan for Curriculum and Textbook Construction at Shanghai Theatre Academy" was launched on October 17.


The meeting was presided over by Liu Qing, Vice President of Shanghai Theatre Academy.  Leaders of the university, heads of relevant functional departments, heads of various faculties and departments, heads of teaching and research offices, and teacher representatives attended the meeting.


Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered a mobilization speech. He emphasized the importance of high-quality curriculum and textbook construction. In recent years, the school has achieved remarkable results and fruitful outcomes in curriculum and textbook construction, with continuous progress in educational and teaching reforms. At the same time, it is necessary to recognize that there are still deficiencies in the integration of courses, the quantity and quality of textbooks, and the strength and depth of practice. The "Three-Year Action Plan" is an important measure to implement the requirements of the CPC Central Committee on curriculum and textbook work, and it serves as a timetable, roadmap and task book for curriculum and textbook work in the next three years. All teachers in the university should raise their awareness, attach great importance, and effectively implement various tasks of curriculum and textbook construction, promoting the key tasks of curriculum and textbook construction with a spirit of perseverance.

Lu Jun, a member of the first batch of national advanced individuals in textbook construction, the author of Theory and Techniques of Playwriting among the first batch of Shanghai higher education excellent textbooks and the person in charge of the national first-class undergraduate course "Introduction to Playwriting", Zhu Jinhua, the person in charge of the national first-class undergraduate course "History of Chinese Opera," and Wang Yang, the person in charge of the Shanghai first-class undergraduate course "Introduction to Acting," shared their valuable experiences in curriculum and textbook construction.


Shen Liang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office and Dean of the Graduate School, provided a detailed interpretation of the "Three-Year Action Plan for Curriculum and Textbook Construction at Shanghai Theatre Academy (2024-2026)" from the aspects of guiding ideology, construction foundation, construction goals, and organizational guarantees.


Each faculty and department aligned with the "Three-Year Action Plan," focused on the "One Lead, Three Integrations" goal, and made plans for curriculum and textbook construction. The heads of teaching work expressed their confidence and determination to promote curriculum and textbook construction.


Xie Wei, Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered a concluding speech, putting forward several requirements for the university's curriculum and textbook construction work. First, it is necessary to grasp the logical relationship of the top-level design of talent cultivation and pay attention to the integration of talent cultivation paths. He pointed out that "upright character, solid foundation, professional excellence, and strong practice" are the university's talent cultivation goals, and the "one guide, three integrations" model is the talent cultivation approach proposed to achieve these goals. Courses and teaching materials are the specific methods and tools to realize this talent cultivation model. Secondly, it is necessary to grasp the dialectical relationship and recognize that courses and teaching materials are the basic requirements for talent cultivation. Thirdly, the evaluation standards for courses and teaching materials lie with the students, and it is important to avoid superficiality and emphasize teaching effectiveness. Fourthly, attention must be paid to the construction of the teaching staff. Fifthly, ideological safety must always be emphasized. Sixthly, the awareness of utilizing and protecting digital resources should be strengthened, with a focus on accumulation and protection in daily teaching.

The successful convening of this three-year action plan launch meeting for course and teaching material construction is not only a phased summary and reflection on the course and teaching material construction work at the Shanghai Theatre Academy but also lays the foundation for the direction of the next phase of construction work. It also provides a platform for communication and dialogue among various departments and faculties.


The university will further closely focus on "ideological and political guidance, professional integration, science and art fusion, and industry-education integration," fully integrate various resources, comprehensively promote the "three degrees" construction of courses and the "four supports" construction of teaching materials, advance educational and teaching reforms, and jointly push the course and teaching material construction of the Shanghai Theatre Academy to a new level.
