In the golden autumn season, “Rising Artists’ Works" & R.A.W.! Land of the 23rd China Shanghai International Arts Festival will be held at the Shanghai Theatre Academy from 14 to 26 October 2024. This also marks the beginning of a new decade and a new journey for the "Rising Artists’ Works" & R.A.W! Land.
In 2012, the China Shanghai International Arts Festival established the "Rising Artists’ Works" and, in collaboration with the Shanghai Theatre Academy, launched the "R.A.W.! Land". Since 2019, "Rising Artists’ Works" & R.A.W.! Land has continuously received support from the Shanghai Theatre Academy's "High-Level Local Universities" construction project. The "Rising Artists’ Works" has always adhered to the original intention of nurturing young artists' creations, maintaining an open and inclusive attitude to cultivate and incubate the most dynamic original art, and helping Chinese originals and youth expressions to reach the world's mainstream stages.
As of 2023, "Rising Artists’ Works” has completed a brilliant ten-year journey. As a leading incubation platform for original art works in China, it has commissioned 105 young artists from different fields and presented 89 stage art works of various styles, providing high-quality soil for the comprehensive growth of young artistic talents.
In 2024, as "Rising Artists’ Works" & R.A.W.! Land enters a new decade, the China Shanghai International Arts Festival Center and the Shanghai Theatre Academy will jointly plan and launch a series of activities. These will encompass various art forms such as drama, dance, music, and visual arts, and will include performances, special lectures, and themed exhibitions. This will empower and upgrade this original incubation support platform, highlighting the new strength of young artists.
In the second new decade, the China Shanghai International Arts Festival will encourage, care for, and support the creations of young artists worldwide with more innovative concepts, an open attitude, and an inclusive mind. It will provide full-chain support from incubation, creation, and performance to international exposure, helping young artists' works to reach a broader international stage.
