This event stands as a heartfelt tribute from the Shanghai Theatre Academy to the milestone birthday of our New China. It not only highlights the patriotic spirit and youthful vibrancy of our students in this new era but also expresses our deep gratitude for the continuous support from all sectors of society towards our university. Over the course of 75 years, we have weathered trials and accomplished remarkable progress. From 1949 to the present, the Communist Party of China has united and guided hundreds of millions through challenges, transforming the impossible into the possible, and progressively carving out a path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. As we step into this new era, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, the CPC's innovative spirit, solidarity, and effectiveness in action have been consistently bolstered, expertly navigating our "China ship" through turbulent waters. We have established the world’s largest and highest quality education system, and we are making significant strides towards becoming a leading nation in education. The high-quality cultural offerings we provide continuously enhance the people's sense of cultural fulfillment and happiness, while the trajectory of socialist cultural development broadens with each passing day. As we pass the torch, we remain steadfast in our original aspirations cultivated over 75 years. Located in the birthplace of the CPC, the Shanghai Theatre Academy has consistently upheld its mission of "gathering dramatic talents for the nation." We have aligned our trajectory with the future and destiny of our country, the progressive changes of our times, and the fundamental needs of our people. We remain devoted to nurturing talents for both the Party and the country, fostering a plethora of dedicated literary and artistic creators who possess integrity and a strong sense of national pride. Our university has produced numerous highly regarded works that resonate with society.
Recently, Lei Jiayin, an alumnus of the 2006 cohort of the Acting Department, received accolades for his outstanding performance in the highly popular TV drama “A Lifelong Journey”, winning the Outstanding Actor Award at the 34th Feitian Awards for Television Drama. Our major production, "Classmates in Youth," successfully premiered at the China Grand Theatre, attracting significant attention and enthusiastic responses. Additionally, our talented teachers and students once again showcased their brilliance during the "Shanghai Segment" at the closing ceremony of the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France.
Comrades and friends! The genesis, evolution and growth of the Shanghai Theatre Academy represent not only a clear reflection of the progress of the era, the prosperity and strength of our nation, and the transformative growth of our city, but also a distinctive and indispensable chapter in this grand narrative. As we approach our 80th anniversary next year, I urge all members of the Shanghai Theatre Academy to remain committed to the guidance of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era.
