Recently, a delegation led by Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, was invited to visit several top universities and art institutions in Russia and South Korea to promote joint progress in artistic innovation, academic research, and cultural exchange between the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the institutions in these two countries.

The delegation first visited the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow, where they gained an in-depth understanding of the theatre's rich dramatic traditions and experienced its unique cultural atmosphere. The Vakhtangov Theatre is renowned for its exquisite traditional classic productions and strong support for emerging theatrical talents. The theatre is equipped with diverse stage and studio facilities, providing a broad platform for young artists to create and showcase their work. The delegation also watched a classic play, "Oedipus Rex," directed by the famous director Tuminas, experiencing the theatre's excellent artistic standards and profound dramatic connotations.

At the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, both parties agreed during the talks that strengthening the exchange and cooperation in theatrical arts between China and Russia is crucial for promoting mutual understanding and appreciation between the two countries. During the discussions, both sides expressed their intention to cooperate in areas such as the translation and introduction of contemporary Chinese drama and the staging of productions. They also explored the possibility of jointly promoting the international dissemination of Chinese and Russian theatrical works. Additionally, both parties planned to launch a cooperative project for training professionals in theatre management, including co-authoring textbooks, exchanging teachers and students, and expanding the influence and submissions of the Shanghai Theatre Academy's academic journals in Russia.

During the visit to the Moscow Art Theatre School (Joseph Kobzon Theatre Arts University), both parties signed an agreement aimed at deepening cooperation in the fields of art education and culture, agreeing on several collaborative projects, including mutual invitations to participate in art festivals and jointly cultivating internationally competitive artistic talents.

At the Saint Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy, both parties reached a consensus on cooperation in artistic innovation, academic research and cultural exchange, and signed an agreement. The agreement includes jointly conducting academic activities, implementing research and creative projects, and organizing exchanges and training. On the same day, the delegation also visited the Bolshoi Drama Theatre (Tovstonogov Theatre) in Saint Petersburg.

Additionally, the delegation visited Saint Petersburg State University, where they discussed topics such as cooperation on the translation and introduction of contemporary Chinese drama and the joint training of theatre actors with university representatives, and proposed the signing of a tripartite agreement between the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Saint Petersburg State University, and a renowned theater in Saint Petersburg to deepen cooperation in theater education and arts management.

During their stay in South Korea, the delegation attended the Asia-Pacific Bond of Theatre Schools Directors' Conference held at the Korea National University of Arts, where they discussed APB's mission, goals and future development strategies with representatives of other APB members and reached a consensus on several important amendments to the charter.
