On the evening of 30 September, the banks of the Huangpu River were brightly lit. The Shanghai Municipal People's Government held a National Day reception at the Shanghai Exhibition Center to warmly celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Chen Jining, Party Secretary of Shanghai, and Gong Zheng, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Shanghai, gathered with Chinese and foreign guests to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Foreign experts from the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Jan Schütte and Yuanyuan Tan, were invited to attend the National Day reception.
Mr Jan Schütte has served as the President of the German Film and Television Academy (Berlin) and the Dean of the American Film Institute. As a recipient of national and Shanghai high-level talent programs, he has been teaching at the Shanghai Theatre Academy's College of Film for many years and is a familiar "STAer".
Ms Yuanyuan Tan, who graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Dance School, has gained international acclaim and received the Shanghai "Magnolia Silver Award." After the establishment of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Dance Collaboration Center, she was introduced as a talent through the Shanghai Theatre Academy PT program to serve as the director of the center, actively giving back to her alma mater.
Hu Wenrong, Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, also warmly greeted Jan Schütte at the National Day reception, expressing heartfelt thanks to the foreign experts who have contributed to Shanghai's development.
Attendees of the National Day reception included senior representatives from the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Shanghai Municipal People's Procuratorate, some retired senior officials, senior representatives from the People's Liberation Army and the Armed Police Force stationed in Shanghai, senior representatives from various municipal departments, districts and some people's organizations, representatives of local heroes and models, some Shanghai-based personnel from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan compatriots, and representatives of overseas Chinese and Chinese expatriates. Representatives from foreign consulates in Shanghai, representatives of Shanghai’s sister cities, recipients of Shanghai "Magnolia Award", foreign experts, and representatives of the business community were also invited to attend the event.
