In the recently announced list of winners for the 9th Huichuang Youth (Music and Arts Category) and the 16th Shanghai University Student Computer Application Ability Competition 2024, the entries from students of the Film Scoring Department under the guidance of the faculty team won a total of 18 awards. These include four first prizes, two second prizes and three third prizes in the Think Youth category, and one first prize (ranking the first), two second prizes, six third prizes and one merit award in the Computer Application Ability Competition. The award-winning works have garnered widespread attention and acclaim from relevant professional fields and the society at large.
Following over two decades of educational practice, the Film Scoring Department has developed a comprehensive and in-depth educational model aimed at cultivating versatile talents who are proficient in both Chinese and Western music theories and contemporary artistic thinking. These individuals not only possess exceptional music composition skills but are also adept at operating digital platforms, enabling them to create outstanding musical works for contemporary films, television series, stage plays and interactive media platforms based on traditional composition. The teaching staff of the Film Scoring Department includes renowned composers, music producers, recording engineers and accomplished researchers in composition theory from both domestic and international backgrounds.
