On 16 July, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and hosted by the Shanghai Art Education Committee, the "Blooming • Charm of Aesthetic Education" 2023 (Third) Shanghai School Aesthetic Education Practice "Charm" Series Brand Activities Showcase and the First Lecture of "Charming Figures Talk about Aesthetic Education" were held at the Shanghai Library East.
Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, who was the recipient of the second "Charming Principal" award, was invited as the guest speaker for the first lecture. He delivered a speech titled "Aesthetic Education is Always on the Road," deeply discussing the responsibilities and practices of higher education institutions and explaining the importance of aesthetic education for personal growth and social development.
Huang Changyong emphasized that on the path of aesthetic education, every educator, student and member of society is a participant and promoter, bearing the responsibility of cultural inheritance and innovation, and shaping the spiritual outlook and cultural character of the Chinese nation. He hoped that everyone would work together to educate people through aesthetics and culture, allowing the light of aesthetic education to illuminate every corner.
In the list of winners of the 2023 (Third) Shanghai School Aesthetic Education Practice “Charm” Series Brand Activities, we were pleased to see several projects from the Shanghai Theatre Academy once again.
The original musical drama "Counselor" by the Shanghai Theatre Academy, which won the "Charming Event" award, is the first stage play in the country to focus on the spirit and demeanor of the counselor team. It pays tribute to ideological and political workers in colleges and universities, deeply touching the audience with its strong youthful atmosphere and promoting positive energy of the times.
The "Charming Student" award went to Zhou Runzhi, a student from the Class of 2021 of the Art Management major at the College of Creative Studies of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. During her time at the university, she received national scholarships and honors in the National College Student Creative Planning Competition and the Think Youth Competition, showcasing the comprehensive development capabilities and potential of Shanghai Theatre Academy students.
Additionally, the Shanghai Theatre Academy also won the "Excellent Organization Award", reflecting STA's high regard for the “Charm” Series Brand Activities and its outstanding achievements in aesthetic education over the years.
Shen Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee for Education and Health Work, Wang Hao, Deputy Director-General of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and Chen Kehong, Director of the Shanghai Art Education Committee, attended the event.
