On 2 July, Jane Roscoe, Vice-Chancellor of the University for the Creative Arts, UK, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Terry Perk, along with a delegation from Hengdian Group, visited the Changlin Campus of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Accompanied by Li Zhenlin, Dean of the Film School, the guests toured the Film School's film and photo studio and the No. 2 standard screening room, as well as the Creative School's virtual laboratory. Vice-Chancellor Jane Roscoe spoke highly of the facilities and equipment at the Changlin Campus. Subsequently, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, had a cordial and friendly meeting with the guests.


Vice-Chancellor Jane Roscoe stated that the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the University for the Creative Arts have many similarities and the two institutions are partners and share common goals, and that it is her first on-site visit of the Shanghai Theatre Academy since taking office, which is very important for the future cooperation between the two parties.


Party Secretary Xie Wei expressed similar sentiments, noting that the two universities have already laid a solid foundation for cooperation through prior communication. The collaboration between the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the University for the Creative Arts aligns with the overall goals of the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the international metropolitan characteristics of Shanghai. It fits the Shanghai Theatre Academy's direction of discipline development and art-technology integration, and also fits the Shanghai Theatre Academy’s talent cultivation and industry-education integration. The two parties discussed and agreed on the intention to advance practical work in areas such as sending visiting scholars, student exchanges, faculty training, and research on the impact of AI on art education.
