On the afternoon of 19 June 2024, Wang Weisong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Full-time Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Association, and Ren Xiaowen, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Full-time Vice Chairman, visited our university for research. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of our university, and Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President, attended the research meeting, which was presided over by Vice President Nie Wei. Heads of relevant offices from the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations and our university, as well as representatives of key young and middle-aged teachers, participated in the meeting and exchanged work experiences.
At the meeting, the Research Office of our university introduced the research work in recent years, focusing on the approvals obtained for major national research projects and the awards received for research achievements since the new era. The Planning Office reported on the action plan of our university to "build a demonstration university for the best practice of Xi Jinping's cultural thought".
Wang Weisong stated that as a specialized art university, the Shanghai Theatre Academy has distinctive features in such aspects as the research of theatre and literary theories, the construction of the Shanghai Film School, and the enhanced development of the "three major systems" of Chinese characteristic art studies. The Shanghai Federation of Social Science Association will fully play its role as a bridge and link, building more platforms to serve experts and scholars in the social sciences community. He hoped that both parties will further cooperate in academic activities, talent cultivation, and the construction of social science bases.
Next year marks the 95th anniversary of the Left-wing Cultural Movement and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Social Scientists' Alliance. Both parties will take this opportunity to jointly hold related commemorative activities and work together to contribute efforts to building the best practice site for Xi Jinping's cultural thought.
