Inauguration of Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong Experimental Middle School
On 30 June, the inauguration of Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong Experimental Middle School marked another solid step in the comprehensive reform of Shanghai's education system and the integrated development of primary, secondary and higher education, as well as the educational reform in Pudong New Area.
At the inauguration ceremony, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, stated that this collaboration is an exploration of the integration between higher education and basic education, and another strong partnership between the Academy and Pudong. STA will firmly establish the concept of social service, continuously expand open education, and form a series of high-quality, distinctive social service brands. This will contribute to creating new paths for the development of arts education and provide replicable and promotable experiences for the comprehensive reform of Shanghai's education system and the pioneering educational reform in Pudong New Area.
Shan Shaojun, Deputy Party Secretary of the Pudong New Area, expressed his hopes for the newly inaugurated school, urging it to make good use of the STA's professional resources, actively co-develop specialized courses, further enhance the characteristics of arts education, and solidify the distinctive path of integrating five types of education.
It is reported that the Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong Experimental Middle School is the second affiliated school at the basic education level that has been co-built by STA and Pudong New Area, following the Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong New World Experimental Primary School. It is also the seventh affiliated school of STA in the Yangtze River Delta region.
The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Bai Yueping, Principal of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong Experimental Middle School. Xu Yong, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Zhang Weiling, Standing Member of Party Committee and Member of STA Leadership, relevant functional offices of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and leaders from the CPC Pudong New Area Committee for Education Work and the Pudong New Area Education Bureau attended the ceremony.
The Shanghai Theatre Academy Drama Literature Department Teaching Base and the Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong Experimental Middle School AIGC Art-Technology Integration Experimental Centre were also established at the school.
The predecessor of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong Experimental Middle School was Tangzhen Middle School, founded in 1868, with a long history of education. Through long-term educational reform practice and exploration, it has formed distinctive features in drama education and science and technology education. In this collaboration, STA will closely integrate the characteristics and rules of basic education, fully leverage the university's advantages in expertise and faculty, strengthen the research on the connection between the specialized courses in drama education at university and middle school, explore the cultivation of drama talents in the context of the integration of science and art, and enhance the level of arts education in the basic education stage. This will empower the balanced and high-quality development of arts education in Pudong and even Shanghai.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Shanghai Theatre Academy Affiliated Pudong Experimental Middle School also released a brand-new school song MV and delivered wonderful cultural performances.
