From 16 to 18 June 2024, the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) Market was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. Representing domestic film academies, the Film School of Shanghai Theatre Academy, along with its Experimental Film Studio, participated in the event, and showcased the rich achievements and forward-looking perspectives of the Film School in the field of film and television education from historical, contemporary and future angles.

The Film School of Shanghai Theatre Academy meticulously set up three major exhibition boards to present its profound foundation and innovative capabilities to the public and industry professionals in a diversified manner.

The first exhibition board, "Hall of Fame," revisits 24 renowned film professors who used to teach at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. These professors are not only academic leaders but also pioneers in China's film industry, whose wisdom and contributions have left a deep imprint on the history of Chinese film development.

The second exhibition board, "Outstanding Teachers," focuses on the current film teaching team at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Among them, there are national-level high-level talent title holders, provincial and ministerial-level high-level talent title holders, and recipients of international and national film and television awards. Their professional qualities and rich practical experience provide high-quality film and television education for students, nurturing batch after batch of new stars in the industry.

The third exhibition board, "New Film Introductions," showcases two films currently in production by the Experimental Film Studio - "Gold Trap" (tentative title) and "A Blue Daydream". These works not only delve deeply into original stories but also demonstrate the spirit of innovation in film production.

During the participation in the SIFF Market, Li Zhenlin, Dean of the Film School and Director of the Experimental Film Studio, engaged in in-depth exchanges and cooperation discussions with exhibitors and visitors at the SIFF Market. The cooperation directions covered various fields such as young director training, film and television investment and financing, production, location shooting, distribution, venue rental and legal affairs, fully demonstrating the influence and appeal of the Film School of Shanghai Theatre Academy in the industry.

Additionally, the faculty, students and volunteers from the Film School actively participated in the event. They introduced the educational achievements of the Film School over the years to industry professionals and distributed creative products based outstanding student works, showcasing the creative talents of the students. Some student works were also displayed at the booth of the Shanghai Film and Television Production Association, joining the unified film promotion platform of Shanghai.
