The "Faculty Team for Chinese Playwriting Studies" has recently received a new honor. Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission awarded a commendation to the “Faculty Team for Chinese Playwriting Studies” from the Shanghai Theatre Academy for their significant contributions in 2023, bestowing upon them the "Meritorious Service" award.
Formed in 2007 and led by Professor Lu Jun, who established the new discipline of playwriting studies, the team brings together three generations of senior, middle-aged and young teachers from the Shanghai Theatre Academy. The team includes influential scholars in China and outstanding young backbone teachers, forming a talent cultivation path that ensures the transmission of knowledge and the nurturing of successors.
Since its establishment, the "Faculty Team for Chinese Playwriting Studies" has continuously garnered accolades: the team has won two Shanghai Municipal Teaching Achievement Awards, three National Teaching Achievement Awards, five major projects funded by the National Social Science Fund for Art Studies, two major projects from the Ministry of Education, one National WR Plan Teaching Master award, one National Advanced Individual in Teaching Material Construction award, and over other 70 provincial and ministerial-level awards and recognitions. Among them, the team leader, Professor Lu Jun, has received 15 national-level honors and projects since 2018. In 2023, the "Faculty Team for Chinese Playwriting Studies" was selected for the title of “Chinese Universities Huang Danian-style Faculty Team", achieving a new breakthrough in art education.
