Professor Stanislav Semerdjiev's Screenwriting Workshop Kicks Off

The Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film has enthusiastically initiated a three-week expert workshop with Professor Stanislav Semerdjiev as the guest instructor. This workshop will consist of a variety of carefully curated activities, including expert lectures, film screenings, group discussions and individual coaching sessions, all designed to provide students with a more systematic and in-depth opportunity for academic exchange. Organized by the Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film, this workshop also marks another breakthrough in our university's ongoing efforts to enhance international exchange, building upon initiatives such as the "2DAYS" Micro Film Festival and the Global Summer Film School events.


Professor Stanislav Semerdjiev will offer professional solutions to complex issues regarding the initial concepts of graduation projects for the editing and directing students of the 2021 intake at the Film College. He will also organize group discussions to provide systematic instruction and intensive training for the students. This will help to foster intellectual collisions and stimulate creativity during the creative process, and offer more effective advancement in the planning and preparation of student works.

Professor Stanislav Semerdjiev is the Executive Director of the International Association of Film and Television Schools (CILECT), the Rector of the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Bulgaria, and the President of the Bulgarian Association of Film, TV and Radio Scriptwriters. He has served as a script editor, screenwriter, and producer for over 100 European feature and short film projects, and his extensive practical experience and professional knowledge will undoubtedly add great value to this workshop.


Through further international exchange and cooperation, new vitality will be injected into teaching, enabling works with a richer and more profound creative texture and providing students with more possibilities for expression on the international stage.

Professor Stanislav Semerdjiev has engaged in multiple teaching collaborations with our university, having participated as a special guest in the Global Summer Film School events hosted by our university and delivered inspiring speeches that significantly broadened the international perspectives of our students. We look forward to this workshop, where we anticipate that through in-depth exchanges and interactions with the professor, more student works characterized by innovative spirit and professional standards will be produced.
