In February 2024, the 7th National College Student Microfilm Display Activity "The Political Theory Class in My Heart" came to a successful conclusion. This activity was one of two themed educational activities launched by the Ministry of Education under the pilot project of comprehensive study of Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. The entries were publicly released on Bilibili, and the winning works were ascertained after multiple rounds of evaluations and assessments by interdisciplinary experts. Among them, the film "They Emerge from Architecture", which was submitted by our university, won the first prize in the long video division, while "Time and Space-Crossing Audio, Unified and Collaborative Responsibility" received the first prize in the short video division. This marks the first time our school has achieved a breakthrough in winning nation-level awards in this event.
In August 2023, the Marxism College launched the mobilization after receiving the competition notice, and coordinated the entire process of the competition entry, from the selection, modification, expert consultation, to the improvement, filming, post-production, and final submission for the competition.
"They Emerge from Architecture" is a collaborative effort under the guidance of teachers Chen Min, Xu Xia and Xiao Yongkui, with the student team led by Pang Ruiyi. The team members include Deng Xian, Fu Junjie, Zhang Yicheng, Lu Tianyuan, Wang Junqian, Sun Bolong, Li Menglong, Zhu Danqi and Cheng Yun. Additionally, members of the Original Aspiration Theory Club also assisted in the shooting process. "Time and Space-Crossing Audio, Unified and Collaborative Responsibility" is work guided by Teacher Wang Yaoqi and mainly created by Liang Xinyin.
The significant breakthrough achieved by the works submitted by the Marxism College in this competition is inseparable from the strong support of the university’s party committee. This is an essential achievement in our university's efforts of building the "Great Ideological and Political Education Course," and it also marks the phase-based achievements of the Marxism College in implementing the university's party committee's plan to develop a Marxist College with the unique feature of "theatre + ideological and political education”. Participating in national-level events has provided all teachers and students with an opportunity for learning and practice, deepening their study and reflection on Xin Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new ear through the practical engagement in "theatre + ideological and political education".
