STA Team Presents "Shanghai Three Minutes" at the Closing Ceremony of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2023

The China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2023 has successfully concluded at Tianjin University.


The next China International College Students’ Innovation Competition will be held in Shanghai, hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. To close this year's competition, "Shanghai Three Minutes" was performed by the Shanghai Theatre Academy team.


The performance was directed by Ma Junfeng, with Chen Ran from the Musical Theatre Centre as vocal director and coordinator, Huang Wei as choreographer and Chen Yue as vocal director.


At the performance venue, the students' passionate interpretation perfectly presented the ingenious performance ideas, showing the vigorous vitality of the young students. Accompanied by the call of "Welcome to Shanghai", a warm applause erupted on the spot, and the audience was deeply infected with the youthfulness and vitality of Shanghai, and the atmosphere of the whole venue was brought to a climax.

The performance was completed by 37 students from STA's Musical Theatre Centre and one student from the College of China Opera. In "Three Minutes", they showed the perfect fusion of Shanghai culture and technology. This valuable performance opportunity also allowed more peers at home and abroad to get to know STAers who are "upright in character, solid in foundation, refined in specialty and strong in practice".

Chen Min'er, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, Huai Jinpeng, Secretary of the CPC Group of the Ministry of Education and Minister of Education, Zhang Gong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee and Mayor of Tianjin, and Xie Dong, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai, attended the closing ceremony of the competition.

During the rehearsal, Wu Yan, Vice Minister of Education, spoke highly of the Shanghai Three Minutes performance. He said, "Your performance shows us that Shanghai is an open and inclusive world-class city, and you have demonstrated the elegance of Shanghai university students. We are very happy to see you".
