On 20 November, the 15th Cross-Strait Television Hosting New Talent Competition came to a successful end in Taining, Fujian Province. Twenty-six teams and 78 contestants undertook multiple rounds of intensive competition, and Rong Jiahui, a Class of 2022 undergraduate student majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting Arts, ranked the first in the finals and won the Best New Talent Award, along with the certificate of employment issued by the Fujian Media Group.
Co-sponsored by the China Television Artists Association, the Taiwan Chinese Visual and Audio Production Association, the Fujian Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Fujian Media Group, this event was one of the important activities of the Cross-Strait Arts Festival, and aimed to provide a stage for new talents in TV hosting from both sides of the Taiwan Straits to showcase their skills, and to promote the exchange, friend-making and heartfelt friendship between young people from both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
The contestants representing Shanghai were selected through the "Host of Tomorrow - The Sixth Shanghai University Student Hosting Competition". The three contestants from by our university's hosting department won the Gold Award (Rong Jiahui), the Bronze Award (Li Jiajian) and the New Host Award (Liu Yiping).
