On the morning of 17 November 2023, the signing ceremony for the Framework Agreement of Strategic Cooperation Framework between the China Theatre Association and the Shanghai Theatre Academy was held in the multi-function room on the ground floor of the library of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Gao Yunfei, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Chen Yongquan, vice-president of the China Theatre Association, Fu Yixuan, secretary general of the China Theatre Association, Xia Yujing, full-time vice-president of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Sun Zhenrong, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Xie Wei, party secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Huang Changyong, president of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and other leaders attended the signing ceremony.
The two sides mainly agreed to cooperate in the following areas:
1. The two sides will jointly promote the cultivation of high-level theatre creative talents and carry out the training of high-level theatre talents in conjunction with the training of professional doctoral students at Shanghai Theatre Academy.
2. The two sides will jointly promote the dissemination of outstanding Chinese theatre works overseas.
3. The two sides will jointly promote the professional development of theatre education for tertiary, primary and secondary educational institutions.
The China Theatre Association and the Shanghai Theatre Academy have a deep relationship and a long history of cooperation. It is believed that the cooperation between China Theatre Academy and Shanghai Theatre Academy this time will play a positive role in cultivating and nurturing high-quality theatre talents and theatre education professionals for primary and secondary schools, deepening the exchange and dialogue between Chinese theatre and international theatre, further expanding the international influence of Chinese theatre, and promoting the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign theatre cultures. At the same time, it is another attempt to explore and innovate the mode and mechanism of talent training through cooperation between a university and an industry association.
