The 25th Annual Meeting of the Film, Television and Media Committee of the China Association of Higher Education, co-sponsored by the Film, Television and Media Committee of the China Association of Higher Education and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and hosted by the Film College of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, the Shanghai Film, Television and Theatre Theory Research Society and the Shanghai Film Association, with academic support from “Film Art”, “Contemporary Cinema”, “Contemporary Communication” and “Beijing Film Academy Journal”, was held at the Shanghai Theatre Academy recently.
With the theme of "New Liberal Arts Construction of Film and Television in the Context of Discipline and Specialty Adjustment", the conference aimed to discuss the reform, innovation and development direction of film, television media education in the new era, and to promote the construction of film, television and media disciplines as well as the cultivation of talents. More than 120 experts, scholars, teachers and postgraduate students from more than 60 colleges and universities across the country attended the conference.
At the opening ceremony, the award ceremony of "Lifelong Contribution Award of Film, Television and Media Committee of China Association of Higher Education" was held. After the opening ceremony, the forum on the theme of "New Liberal Arts Construction in Film and Television in the Context of Discipline and Specialty Adjustment" was held. The Film, Television and Media Committee of the China Association of Higher Education also signed a co-operation agreement with Epic Games.
This year's conference included a theme forum entitled "Research on Film, Television and Media Art in Cross-Media Perspective" and three sub-forums, at which experts and scholars gathered together and exchanged views on the topics of "Film and Television Theory, Criticism and Cultural Studies", "Image and New Media Communication Studies", "Film, Television and Media Art and Media Culture Studies" and so on.
This annual conference was a high-level, high-quality and high-efficiency academic event, showing the new achievements, new outlook and new atmosphere of China's film, television and media education. The success of this conference would not only provide a platform for academic exchanges, but also help to promote the high-quality development of film, television and media education in China. The Film, Television and Media Committee of the China Association of Higher Education would continue to play a guiding role in spreading the mainstream values of film and television culture, promote the cultivation of talents in colleges and universities, advocate mainstream values, assume social responsibility, accelerate the process of educational modernization, and make unremitting efforts to build a new highland for film, television and media education.
