Year 2023 Board Meeting of Shanghai Collaboration and Innovation Centre for Chinese Traditional Opera Culture is successfully held

On the afternoon of 27 September, the Year 2023 Board Meeting of the Shanghai Collaboration and Innovation Centre for Chinese Traditional Opera Culture was held at the Lianhua Road Campus. The meeting was attended by Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, heads of relevant offices and colleges, relevant leaders of the Shanghai Collaboration and Innovation Centre for Chinese Traditional Opera Culture, as well as board members of the Centre and experts.

Li Peihong, Dean of the College of Chinese Traditional Opera and Executive Director of the Centre, Wang Chuan, Party Secretary of the College of Chinese Traditional Opera, and Zhang Jun, Principal of the Affiliated School of Chinese Traditional Opera and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Centre, delivered speeches one after another. Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, gave a speech.

The meeting then held an appointment ceremony for additional members of the Centre's Board of directors, at which Li Peihong, Executive Director of the Centre, and Zhang Jun, Vice Chairman of the Centre's Board of Directors, presented the letters of appointment to the Centre ‘s board of directors to Wang Mengtang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the China Council for the Promotion of National Trade and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zhongdaozhuoyue Holding Co Ltd, and Zhang Guoxiong, Chairman of the Shanghai Hubei Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Guoding Group. The two new directors then delivered speeches pledging their full support for the Centre’s development.

Qi Jisong, Deputy Party Secretary of the College of Chinese Traditional Opera and Deputy Executive Director of the Shanghai Collaboration and Innovation Centre for Chinese Traditional Opera Culture, then reported on behalf of the Centre on the main work of the Centre in 2022-2023, the results achieved, and the main plans and priorities of the Centre for the next year, which were endorsed and supported by the participating directors and leaders. In particular, they expressed their expectation and encouragement for the "Pei Shaojun and Li Qianjin" project, an experimental Chinese opera film with originality and sophistication, which has been launched this year and will continue to be developed jointly with the strengths and resources of all parties.

Afterwards, all the board directors and experts, who attended the meeting online or offline, actively expressed their opinions and suggestions for the operation and further development of the Centre. Finally, Lan Tao, Deputy Director of the Research Office, summarized this board meeting and the operation of the Centre from the perspective of the Research Office as the supervisory office of the Centre, and conveyed the opinions of guidance of the Science and Technology Department of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for the Centre, and at the same time, put forward valuable suggestions on how to further strengthen the operation of the Centre.
