1 October was the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
At 8 am, teachers and students of Shanghai Theatre Academy gathered at the Huashan Road Campus to hold the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony titled "Celebrate Flourish China in the Name of Youth".
Four students from the class of 2023 escorted the national flag to the flagpole as flag-raisers. In the national anthem sung by all present on-site, the five-star red flag rose slowly and fluttered proudly in the wind. All the people at the scene made a solemn salute to the national flag with a flush of pride.
Four backbones of the University’s student union and graduate student union gave a keynote speech tiled "Words of STA Students - I Grow with the Motherland". From their own experiences and perspectives, the four students observed the great changes in the new era, felt the firm pace of the Chinese nation towards great rejuvenation, and reflected the youthful "I" with the vibrant motherland.
This year's National Day coincided with the 19th Asian Games held in China. The dances "I Love You China" and "Love Together" performed by the College of Dance showed the beautiful and dynamic classical dance and energetic aerobics of the Hangzhou Asian Games respectively, which danced out the self-confidence of the STAers and also expressed the praise for the youthful style of the People’s Republic of China.
In this flag-raising ceremony, teachers and students also performed songs "The Pursuit" and "My Motherland and I", poem recitation "Ode to Revival", violin performance "Sing for the Motherland" and other cultural and artistic programs as a token of heartfelt blessings for the 74th birthday of the People’s Republic of China.
A flag-raising ceremony marking the 74th anniversary of the National Day was also held on the morning of 1 October at STA’s Changlin Road Campus.
