In July 2023, in the midsummer, the "Mountain Village School Broadcasting Station" charity project travelled over 2,400 kilometers and landed in the Lawan Ethnic Primary School in Fengtun Town, Mouding County, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, signifying the completion of another radio station.
On the playground on the hill, the children shared their infinite imagination about the radio station during a simple but enthusiastic opening ceremony. The golden bronze plaque engraved with "Lawan Ethnic Primary School Radio Station" carved the dream of voice of children in the mountains; Learning supplies filled with loving care carried the eager expectations; The pro-bono video course on radio station specially prepared by the teachers and students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film for children collated the skills of language expression into a complete set for delivery to children who painted their dreams with voice.
The “Mountain Village School Radio Station” charity project is a long-term charity project that sets up campus radio stations for schools in remote areas. Since its official launch in 2016, nine mountain village school radio stations have been set up to this day. The teachers and students of the STA College of Film have participated in the setup and training work of the “Mountain Village School Radio Station” charity project on a long-term basis, and have donated various types of audio programs, customized notebooks and other items. This year, under the leadership of the party branches of teachers and students at the College of Film, the teachers and students of the College of Film planned, filmed and produced the "Mountain Village School Radio Broadcasting Classroom" series of teaching videos. In the future, they will continue to record systematic, vivid and easy-to-understand courses on interviewing, hosting, editing, recording, production and acting for students in mountain village schools.
In April this year, Ms Wang Qi, secretary of the party branch of teachers at the College of Film, and volunteers of the Shanghai Ashine Public Welfare Development Centre also went to Shiwangyu Primary School, Quanzhuang Town, Yishui County, Linyi Municipality, Shandong Province, to set up a mountain school radio station there.
Ms Wang Qi gave a special training session to the little hosts of the radio station. From basic pronunciation methods to expression skills, then to hosting and interviewing, through repeated teaching and practice, and with repeated guidance and encouragement, the shyness in children's eyes gradually faded away. They sat up, slightly raised their chin, picked up the microphone and, for the first time, called out the name of the station - "Shiwangyu Primary School Mountain Village School Radio Station".
Audio recordings of radio station special programs, science popularization stories, poetry appreciation and so on recorded by the elder brothers and sisters at the Shanghai Theatre Academy have enriched the after-school life of the children and increased their interest in and love of radio broadcasting.
The big hands of the students from the College of Film hold the small hands of the small hosts of the mountain school radio stations, working together to build the mountain village school radio stations, thus allowing the children's dreams to fly over the mountains and towards a farther future.
Going forward, the teachers and students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy College of Film will continue to provide language training and online teaching to the teachers and students of the mountain school radio stations, thereby helping the rural revitalization with practical actions and sincere loving care, and making their own contributions to the high-quality development of beautiful villages and the prosperity of modernized culture of Chinese style.
