On 26 June 2023, the press conference of the Pujiang Country Park Short Film Creation Competition 2023 and the screening of short films from the competition in 2022 were successfully held in the No. 2 Standard Screening Hall of the College of Film Academy on the Changlin Road Campus of Shanghai Theatre Academy. More than ten leaders and guests from the Shanghai Municipal Landscape and City Appearance Administrative Bureau, the Minhang District Landscape and City Appearance Administrative Bureau, the Shanghai Minhang Real Estate Group, the Pujiang Country Park and the Shanghai Theatre Academy were present at the event to witness this exciting moment.
Zhang Hao, Head of the Secretariat of the Landscape Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Landscape and City Appearance Administrative Bureau, and Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered speeches successively, expressing their delight for the cooperation and the expectations for the brilliant creation from students at the College of Film. Subsequently, Li Zhenlin, Dean of the College of Film, announced the official opening of the 2023 Pujiang Country Park Short Film Creation Competition. Duan Ran, a teacher at the College of Film and leader of this project, introduced the format and rules of this year’s competition to the audience.
Last year, STA and the Pujiang Country Park successfully held the "1st Pujiang Country Park Short Film Creation Competition" despite the sever COVID pandemic. Now, the 2nd Pujiang Country Park Short Film Creation Competition is on its way again. It is believed that this short film competition will definitely achieve satisfactory results for everyone.
In the subsequent screening session, the four distinctive and exciting short films completed in 2022 were shown to the audience in turn in the No.2 Standard Screening Hall, and an exchange session with the main creative teams was also held. The four short films were "Catching the Rabbit", "Tiger & Paradise", "Firey Blue" and "Mad Mama Band". In these four short films, the audience saw the country park at different times, from different angles and with different sceneries. At the same time, they also witnessed the students from the College of Film filled with the enthusiasm for creation giving full play to their energy to display the footprints of youth and thoughts about life in front of the audience without reservation through the camera with the full support of the school and the country park.
The screening came to a successful conclusion amidst cheers and laughter. Everyone was looking forward to the emergence of more uniquely excellent works and outstanding film talents in this year’s competition! We look forward to the cooperation between the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the Pujiang Country Park producing more colorful flowers of art.
