On June 21, 2023, at the invitation of Professor Xiao Ying, Dean of the Acting Department, Mr Liao Fan, the winner of the Best Actor Award at the Berlin International Film Festival, the Best Actor Award at the Asian Film Awards, and the Best Actor Award at the Singapore International Film Festival, and also a Year 1993 alumnus of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Acting Department, came to the East Rehearsal Classroom in the Red Building where he sat around with the students for a lively, informative and instructive discussion.
The discussion was conducted in the form of Q&A. In the middle of the discussion, Liu Xiaofeng, the winner of the Best Actor Award at the Changchun Film Festival, a famous producer, director and actor, and a Year 1993 alumnus of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Acting Department, also came and joined Mr Liao Fan in addressing the confusions of the students. Professor Xiao Ying made the wrap-up remarks at the end of the discussion.
The entire discussion lasted for about two hours, during which Mr Liao Fan had in-depth exchanges and discussions with the students, sharing his own experiences and insights. The content of the discussion was not only highly practical, but also infectious and inspiring, from which the students were greatly benefited. It is believed that in future learning and practice, the students would definitely apply what they have learned to practice, continuously improve the level of their acting skills, and grow to be excellent actors.
