The first round of performances of the original musical drama “Counselor”, a production of the Shanghai Theatre Academy under the guidance of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee for Education and Health and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, was held at the STA Experimental Theatre in late May.
This drama is the first stage play in China that focuses on the counselors in higher education institutions. It tells the story of counselors and young students in higher education institutions getting along and growing together. It aims to combine the big era with small incidents, showcase the big ideological and political work on a small stage, and express the big emotions with small stories. It is a youth-oriented drama that pays tribute to ideological and political workers in higher education institutions.
Recently, the seminar on "Counselor" was held at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. The leaders of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the leaders of STA, the main creative team of the play, and the experts from within and without STA gathered together for exchange and discussion on the creative concept, artistic value and educational effects, as well as the next steps in improving the content of the play, striving to make it more refined through further polishing.
The creative team of the original musical drama "Counselor" will continue to polish and improve the play based on the outcomes of this seminar, and make good preparation for the performance tour, so as to tell the story of the counselors better with a better work, and use more diversified theatrical forms to make the ideological and political education heart touching and substantive, and ensure its steadily and successful progress.
