Shanghai Theatre Academy holds training session on application for and management of projects with China National Arts Fund's funding support

The internal training session of the Shanghai Theatre Academy on the application for and management of projects with the funding support of the China National Arts Fund (CNAF) was held at the Hongqiao Road Campus on 30 May, which was attended by dozens of teachers and students.

Since the establishment of CNAF, a total of 34 projects from the Shanghai Theatre Academy have been approved for CNAF funding support. The total number of projects approved is among the top in all art universities nationwide. A batch of high-quality and well-received works and training projects were launched under the support of CNAF, providing a solid guarantee for producing talents and theatrical works.


At the training session, Wei Dongxiao, the director of the Art Creation Centre, and Zhang Lin, the dean of the College of Dance, introduced the application matters of CNAF based on the relevant information of approved projects in previous years.


Subsequently, relevant persons-in-charge from the Finance Office, Audit Office, Art Creation Centre and Performing Arts Centre provided training, explanations, demonstrations, and Q&A on matters including the budget preparation and budget revision during and after application, project completion audit and supervision, application guidelines and operational procedure for online application for 2024, and main steps in the application and implementation processes.

The two-hour training session was substantive, and the 30-minute Q&A afterward was in a lively atmosphere. The attendees expressed that through this training session, they had gained a deeper understanding of the application requirements for CNAF and grasped many key points and norms, which were very helpful for future application work.


The heads of the various offices and units which jointly organized this meeting stated that they would continue to provide training on the implementation of approved projects at an appropriate time to effectively reflect the requirements of CNAF emphasizing on both the approval and implementation processes.
