Proposal on Accelerating the Construction of the "Three Major Systems" of Chinese Art Studies

Thanks to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for its trust in Shanghai Theatre Academy, we have had the opportunity to organize the Seminar on the Development of Chinese Art Studies in the New Era, and work together with experts from all over the country to explore the major proposition of building the "three major systems" of Chinese art studies and discuss the future development path of Chinese art studies.


In order to deeply implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Accelerating the Construction of Philosophy and Social Sciences with Chinese Characteristics, and to focus on promoting the construction of the "three major systems" of art studies, we propose the following to practitioners of art studies throughout the country:


1. Base on the context of Chinese-style modernization, pay close attention to the industry dynamics, refine, integrate and improve the relevant majors set up under the first tier disciplines, and realize the effective integration of art talent training and the development of the cultural industry.


2. Break the binary opposition mindset between academic and professional skills, and accelerate the establishment of a new mode of cultivating artistic talents; Strengthen the construction of a composite talent team and deepen the construction of an academic community; Rebuild a new pattern of close connection between universities and industries, and establish and optimize the disciplinary system of art studies with Chinese characteristics.


3. By taking the Chinese art system as the base point and taking the world art as a reference, strengthen the development of local original theories; By creating new concepts, defining new categories and forming new expressions, actively promote the construction of the Chinese school of art research in various categories, further increase the international discourse power in art research, and build and optimize the discourse system with Chinese characteristics in art studies.


4. Give full play to the guiding role of scientific research projects and academic journals at all levels, and upgrade the level of scientific research by updating research methods, broadening research horizons, refining research fields, adjusting research ideas and deepening cross research; Accelerate the development of an art research evaluation system that is on an innovative achievement oriented basis; Actively enhance the role of academic research in the development and construction of cultural undertakings, and build and optimize the academic system of art studies with Chinese characteristics.
