Led by Professor Peng Yongwen, the students of Year 2022 majoring in Drama Education conducted an immersive social practice class at Cai Yuanpei's Former Residence on Changshu Road. This was a key part of the “Introduction to Art Education” course, a university-level key course (demonstration course in social practice category for ideological and political education). The students had a guided tour at the Cai Yuanpei's Former Residence where they listened to the guide’s introduction, observed various kinds of cultural relics and pictures, learned about Cai Yuanpei's life story, and further appreciated the origins of Chinese aesthetic education. Then, the students held a sharing and exchange session in the reception hall on the third floor of Cai Yuanpei’s Former Residence, and discussed with the postgraduate students majoring in drama education about the creation of the second edition of the museum drama for Cai Yuanpei's Former Residence.
As the first person in modern education in China, Mr Cai Yuanpei brought us too many things. The former residence of Mr Cai is very close to the Huashan Road Campus of STA, and it is like that STA students are being cared for by Mr Cai and the education itself. The promotion of aesthetic education is closely related to each of us. It is believed that the students will follow Mr Cai's footsteps and contribute their youth and strength to the development of drama education in China.
