Recently, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies held the "10th National Humanities and Social Sciences Evaluation Summit and Journal Evaluation Report Release Conference" in Beijing, publicizing the "China Humanities and Social Sciences Journal AMI Comprehensive Evaluation Report (2022)". The academic journal "Film Studies", for which Professor Li Zhenlin and Professor Wan Chuanfa are the editors-in-chief, has the honor to have been selected by the evaluation report.
At present, "Film Studies" has officially published eight volumes, which explores and analyzes a diverse range of contents at different levels and from different angles, mainly focusing on the research of film ontology and technology, research of foreign films and ontology, methods of film history studies, literature and film, gender, ethnicity and cultural exploration in movies, research of film acting, directing and stars, research of film adaptation and text, research of silent films and women, and research of image media and narrative. The journal features a quite high overall quality in terms of the submissions, and aims to stimulate readers' thinking on many elements of film, and has high academic value for contemporary film studies.
The selection by the evaluation report is not only a full recognition of the content quality and social influence of “Film Studies”, but also a demonstration of the comprehensive academic strength of Shanghai Theatre Academy in film studies. In the future, “Film Studies” will continue to adhere to the goal of professionalization and specialization in high-quality publication, base itself on industry needs and academic frontiers, fully capitalize on its disciplinary advantages, provides more academic articles with theoretical significance and academic value for the academic community of Chinese film, and make due contributions to the globalization of Chinese film studies.
