Recently, the family feature film “The Cord of Life” was screened in mainland China. On 27 March, the College of Film at the Shanghai Theatre Academy held a film screening event in the Standard Screening Hall and invited Mr Cao Yu, the producer and cinematography director of the film "The Cord of Life", to conduct a master lecture.
After the screening of the film, Professor Kees, as the moderator of the event, invited Mr Cao Yu to give a lecture for the students. Mr Cao Yu analyzed and explained the lighting, color, and plot of the film from the perspectives of "truthfulness" and "poetic quality". Through the appreciation of film clips and the revelation of stories behind the scenes during the filming, Mr Cao Yu meticulously shared the details, experiences, and feelings during the filming process with the students.
In response to the questions raised by the students, Mr Cao Yu provided detailed answers based on the film "The Cord of Life" and his rich filming experience, which were greatly beneficial to the students. At the end of the event, Professor Kees presented a thoughtfully prepared gift to Mr Cao Yu and took a picture together to mark the event. Mr Cao Yu also encouraged the students to keep improving themselves in the process of continuous practice and learning in the future, and create more excellent film and television works.
