The 2023 National May Day Women's Awards Conference was held in Beijing on 24 March. The College of Dance at Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was awarded the honorary title of "National May Day Women's Model Post".
Xu Hui, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch of the STA College of Dance, attended the awards conference as a representative of this excellent group and went onto the stage to receive the award. At the same time, the College of Dance also participated in the artistic performance of this conference as the representative of award recipients. Led by Liu Jianming, the team leader, and Bi Ying, the instructor, 12 first-year female students wonderfully presented the dance "The Tale of Magnolia", demonstrating the professional level of the STA College of Dance with fantastic dance moves, and received bursts of warm applause on the spot.
The College of Dance at Shanghai Theatre Academy is the leader in China's higher dance education, cultivating high-level dance art talents with undergraduate, master’s and doctoral qualifications for the country. Currently, there are 67 faculty members, of which 67.2% are female. In recent years, the College of Dance has been awarded the honorary titles of “Advanced Collective in the National Education System”, “Model Worker Collective in Shanghai”, “Advanced Grassroots Party Organization in Shanghai's Education and Health System”, and “March 8th Red Flag Collective in Shanghai's Education System”.
Facing the future, the College of Dance at Shanghai Theatre Academy will persevere in its efforts to cultivate people and talents for the party and the country with a more energetic spirit, work together to write a new chapter of striding development, and contribute to the efforts of making Shanghai's cultural brand well known.
