On 16 March 2023, Jenny Stephenson, Vice Dean of the Dan School of Drama and Music at Queen's University of Canada, and party visited Shanghai Theatre Academy and held talks with Professor Gong Baorong, Dean of the International College at Shanghai Theatre Academy.
Professor Jane Stephenson provided an overview of Queen's University of Canada, and introduced the specific curriculum setup and student exchange program of the School of Drama and Music and the Department of Arts and Science. Professor Gong Baorong said that cooperation between the two universities could be carried out in many aspects, such as film production, digital media, animation design, and art management. He asked in detail about the admission requirements of the student exchange program and the 2+2 program at Queen's University of Canada, and hoped that in the future, the two universities could further discuss the details of the programs.
After the meeting, Professor Jane Stephenson conducted a lecture on "Canadian Drama During the COVID-19 Pandemic" for students from the Graduate School at Shanghai Theatre Academy, focusing on the new forms of participatory drama that have emerged in recent years, especially during the pandemic. After the lecture, Professor Jane Stephenson had a warm discussion with the students, which stimulated the students' thinking on how to define "participation" in the new era.
