On the morning of 2 March, Cao Kefan, a famous host at the Shanghai Radio and Television Station and a resident artist at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Jin Wei, a famous host at the Shanghai Radio and Television Station and a resident artist at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, conducted their first lectures of the new semester of the expert workshop with rich content for the students at the Huashan Road Campus and the Changlin Road Campus of Shanghai Theatre Academy respectively.

With the topic of "ability" and starting from "improving personal ability", Cao Kefan discussed with the undergraduate and graduate students of the hosting specialty the "six abilities" that a host should have, namely, political judgment, aesthetic perception, empathy to listen, ideological communication, inner motivation to renew, and resilience for self-healing.

Through this lectures, students have had a new understanding of their overall ability and positioning, and are full of expectations for and confidence in the study that will follow. Mr Cao's wonderful sharing has also given students a higher pursuit and measuring standard to follow, and turning crisis into opportunity is also a new topic that every student needs to face.

Mr Jin Wei brought a new sort of practice-based interview class to the students, aiming at training the students' interview skills by way of practical exercises. He specially invited Bei Qianni, the host of Shanghai Radio and Television Station and an outstanding graduate of Shanghai Theatre Academy, to return to her alma mater as a guest interviewee to participate in the class and practice the interviews with the students.

Through this practical class, the students have had a deeper understanding of how to become an excellent host, and also have found their own answers in their minds to the question of how to improve their ability and gradually grow in repeated training or actual work. Learning knowledge in the classroom for their own use will help the students make a difference in their professional field.
