In the afternoon of 30 November 30, SMG’s exclusive campus recruitment briefing for STA was held in the Duanjun Theater on the Huashan Road Campus. This was not only a campus job fair, but also a rare occasion of "alumni returning home", and it was also an outcome of cooperation generated from the visit to SMG by the Party Committee of the university in order to expand employment opportunities for graduating students.
Not long ago, the Party Committee of Shanghai Theatre Academy and the Party Committee of Shanghai Media Group (SMG) conducted a joint study session of the central groups for theoretical study of the two organizations to study the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. In that joint study session, the matters of cooperation for discussion between the two sides included those with regard to supporting the employment of graduating students from STA.
In this job fair, 12 enterprises under SMG, including Dragon TV Center, Shanghai Media Technology Co Ltd, Shanghai Motion Magic Digital Entertainment Inc, and Shanghai Dance Theatre Co Ltd etc, brought more than 50 positions, including director, TV program host, screenwriter, stage technology, film and television post production etc. In addition, there was a dedicated interview session for TV program host positions, so that students were able to show their talents directly to the interviewer.
Huang Changyong, Deputy Secretary and President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered a speech on behalf of the university. Wang Leiqing, Vice President of SMG and Party Secretary of the Dragon TV Center, who is a Grade 1995 graduate of the Department of Dramatic Literature of Shanghai Theatre Academy, also delivered a speech. A number of alumni, who are currently working in their respective roles as an senior executive, a TV program host and an independent producer in the Dragon TV Center, and as the general manager of a studio under SMG Pictures, also came to the briefing, at which they spoke to and shared their experience with the graduating students, and put forward their expectations, encouragement and suggestions.
At the briefing, the head of SMG’s Human Resources Department introduced the campus recruitment process and talent training mechanism in detail. Relevant personnel of SMGLive and Shanghai Little Star Group Co Ltd introduced the business scope and recruitment procedures of their respective companies, and invited the students to apply.
When the briefing was over, the participating student could not wait to take their resumes and portfolios to the booths of various enterprises, and bravely took the first step on the way to seek employment.
