On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, a new book entitled "Masters of the Department of Dramatic Literature at STA" was officially presented to readers.
The book "Masters of the Department of Dramatic Literature at STA" selects nine respected masters in the history of the department, namely, Li Jianwu, Yu Shangyuan, Gu Zhongyi, Zhao Mingyi, Wei Zhaofeng, Chen Guyu, Chen Ruheng, Chen Yun and Chen Duo. These nine teachers have not only made important contributions to the development of the Department of Dramatic Literature, but also contributed to the creation, research and education of Chinese theatre. Their deeds of being a person, a teacher and a scholar are still extolled in the campus today, inspiring generations of STA students.
At the press conference for the launch of the new book "Masters of the Department of Dramatic Literature" hosted by the Department of Dramatic Literature, the Teacher Affairs Office and the Retired Personnel Affairs Office, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, gave a speech and expressed his congratulations for the publication of the new book.
Zhang Jing, editor-in-chief of “Masters of the Department of Dramatic Literature” and secretary of the General Party Branch of the Department of Dramatic Literature, sincerely thanked the relevant offices of the university for their support and assistance in the compilation and publication of “Masters of the Department of Literature”. Professor Chen Jun, Dean of the Department of Dramatic Literature, introduced the general situation of the compilation of "Masters of the Department of Dramatic Literature". Xu Ying, Deputy Director of the Teacher Affairs Office, praised “Masters of the Department of Dramatic Literature” as a "rich and lively educational book full of the STA spirit" and a special gift for the 77th birthday of STA.
Qin Ziran, a teacher of the Department of Dramatic Literature, and Zhu Jinqing, a graduate student of the Department of Dramatic Literature, jointly recited Mr Chen Yun's poem "Knock on the Door of Life with the Heart of Youth". This poem, which was originally published in the newspaper of Shanghai Theatre Academy on 13 April 1956, is also included in the book "Masters of the Department of Dramatic Literature".
At the book presentation ceremony during the press conference, Hu Min, Deputy Secretary of the STA, and Liu Qing, Vice President of STA, presented copies of the new book to the representatives of relevant offices of the university.
He Tianfa and Dai Ping, the former secretaries of the university’s Party Committee, Professor Ye Changhai and Professor Gong Baorong, who worked in the Department of Dramatic Literature for a long time, Xu Weixin, an alumni representative, as well as the heads of relevant offices of the university and representatives of teachers and students, attended the press conference.
