On 25 November, the International Academic Conference on Image • Media • History: Theoretical Frontiers and New Academic Fields cum the Shanghai Higher Educational Institutions Young Scholars Forum was successfully held at the Changlin Road Campus of Shanghai Theatre Academy. The conference was hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the Shanghai Film Association, and was organized by the Personnel Office and the Film Academy of Shanghai Theatre Academy. Nearly 20 experts, young scholars and industry elites from home and abroad as well as teachers and students of Shanghai Theatre Academy participated in the conference in an online and offline combined mode.
The opening ceremony of the forum was held on the afternoon of the 25th, and was presided over by Professor Dong Jian, Vice Dean of the College of Film, Shanghai Theatre Academy. At the opening ceremony, Professor Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Professor Ren Zhonglun, Vice Chairman of the China Film Association and Chairman of the Shanghai Film Association, Xu Yi, Deputy Director of the Personnel Office, Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Professor Li Zhenlin, Dean of the College of Film, Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered speeches. The keynote speeches session of this forum was divided into three parts.
In the first part, Jan Schütte, the former president of the American Film Academy and now professor of the College of Film, Shanghai Theater Academy had a dialogue with three Chinese and foreign young directors and screenwriters on the topic of "How Young Creators Realize Their First Post-graduation Works". These exchanges fully reflected the great attention that the College of Film, Shanghai Theatre Academy had attached to the exchange of experience and thinking in the course on talent training.
The second part was hosted by Professor Huang Wangli of the College of Film, Shanghai Theatre Academy. At the meeting, Ding Yaping, the former director of the Film and Television Institute of the Chinese Academy of Arts and a PT expert of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Rao Shuguang, the president of the China Film Critics Association and a PT expert of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Professor He Qiliang of the Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and He Guowei, the editor-in-chief of “New Film Works” and a teacher of the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, made speeches.
The third part was hosted by Professor Wan Chuanfa of the College of Film Academy, Shanghai Theatre Academy. Li Ruijun, director and screenwriter, Professor Zhuang Jun of the Liaoning Normal University, Lu Jiajia and Zhao Bin, teachers at the Zhejiang Normal University, Hao Tengger, doctoral candidate at the Columbia University, USA, Zeng Wen, assistant professor at the Xiamen University and doctoral candidate at the Shih Hsin University, Taiwan, Chen Liangdong, postdoctoral candidate at the Beijing Normal University, and Sun Luyang, doctoral candidate at the Hong Kong Shue Yan University, made speeches.
At the closing ceremony held on the evening of the 25th, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Li Zhenlin, Dean of the College of Film, Shanghai Theatre Academy attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Other members of the leadership team of the College of Film, Shanghai Theatre Academy also attended the closing ceremony, including Han Yongsheng, Secretary of the General Party Branch, Wang Chunyun, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch, and Dong Jian, Vice Dean. After the meeting, the online and offline participants took group photos in commemoration of the event.
