From 22 to 23 November 2022, the College of Film, Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) successfully held the thematic lecture "Thinking and Practice: About Shanghai Film" in the Circular Conference Room on the fifth floor of Building 1 at the Changlin Road Campus. The lecture was organized and presided over by Professor Wan Chuanfa of Shanghai Theatre Academy. Professor Ren Zhonglun, Vice Chairman of the China Film Association, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Chairman of the Shanghai Film Association, was the speaker of the lecture. The lecture was mainly for the students doing the "Analysis of Films and Television Plays" course at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, but also attracted many non-STA scholars and students to join via online meeting.
This lecture was not only a historical review of Shanghai city and Shanghai film, but also a lively classroom for students to deeply understand Shanghai film enterprises and film production process. Professor Ren Zhonglun explored "possible" ways to solve the practical problems of Shanghai film with diversified, rich and detailed discussions and strong problem-solving thinking. At the same time, Professor Ren Zhonglun's thoughts and practical actions on Shanghai film were all linked with such elements as history and reality, and found answers for them. These excellent "model" cases were of great inspirational significance for students' future practice and academic research.
