Joint Party Branch of STA’s Library and Journals Centre is invited to attend a lecture given by Professor Li Peng from China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong

The 20^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was successfully held in Beijing from 16 to 22 October 2022. On 23 October, the first plenary session of the 20^th CPC Central Committee elected a new central collective leadership with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core. Basic-level party organizations should conscientiously study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress as the most important political task for the current and future periods, and unify thoughts and actions onto the spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress.

On 28 October, the Joint Party Branch of the Library and Journals Center of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was invited by the Joint Party Branch of Shanghai Art Research Centre and Shanghai Screenplay Creation Centre to go to Julu Road to study the spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress together. In this thematic studying event, Professor Li Peng, the director of the Centre for Comparative Studies of Chinese and Foreign Political Parties and Governments of the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong and a doctor of law, was specially invited to give a keynote report entitled "Promoting the Great Spirit of Party Founding and Leading the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation with Chinese-style modernization", and to provide an in-depth interpretation of the spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress.

Professor Li Peng explained the great significance of the 20^th CPC National Congress from three aspects, i.e. "deeply understanding the significance of the 20^th CPC National Congress", "earnestly studying the main spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress", "carrying forward the great spirit of party founding, making contributions to the new era and striving for a new journey". He summarized the important thoughts, important viewpoints, major conclusions and major measures put forward by the Congress. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, party members vividly and truly deepened their understanding of the spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress, and further understood the new mission and tasks entrusted by the 20^th CPC National Congress.
