On the afternoon of 25 October 2022, Professor Zhou Xing, director of the Teaching Steering Committee of Theatre, Film and Television Majors in Higher Learning Institutions under the Ministry of Education, director of the Art Education Research Centre of Beijing Normal University, and doctoral supervisor, was invited to give an academic lecture entitled "Intelligence, Knowledge and Humanity: The Attraction of Artistic Aesthetics in the Age of Intelligence" to teachers and students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). The lecture was jointly organized by STA’s Dramatic Literature Department, Playwriting Research Centre and Graduate School. The lecture was presided over by Professor Chen Jun, dean of the Dramatic Literature Department of Drama, and attracted more than 100 people, including teachers and students from many universities, to listen online.
In this lecture, Professor Zhou Xing not only combed the artistic expression in the age of intelligence, but also clarified the different connotations and values of intelligence, knowledge and humanity in the current age of art for students, and gave them great inspiration. The lecture talked about profound theories in easy-to-understand language, with the speaker's dialectical thinking on technology and humanity as the core throughout. Moreover, the cultural confidence and lead-by-value approach shown by the speaker in the course of the lecture was a vivid and wonderful ideological and political education for the audience.
