On the morning of 16 October, the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) opened solemnly in Beijing. In order to learn the spirit of the 20thCPC National Congress the soonest, the Film College of Shanghai Theatre Academy organized all students who are CPC members to watch the live broadcast of the opening session together.
The student party members of the No.1 Party Branch for Students and the No.2 Party Branch for Students gathered in Conference Room 604 of Building 1 on the Changlin Road Campus to listen to the report made by the General Secretary. The party members among first-year students, students targeted for party membership and students actively applying for party membership were also invited to be present. The rest of the student party members who were unable to attend onsite also listened to and watched the entire opening session through various channels.
Wang Chunyun, deputy secretary of the General Party Branch of the College, attended the event at which she watched the opening session and participated in the subsequent sharing talk together with all student party members. Ma Yaozu, secretary of the No.1 Party Branch for Students, and Xu Jiachen, secretary of the No.2 Party Branch for Students, were present at the event.
All student party members of the Film College attentively listened to and earnestly studied the report made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on behalf of the 19th CPC Central Committee at the opening session, which not only summarizes the work of the past five years and the great changes in the new era of ten years, but also put forward a clear direction for all aspects of work at this critical moment when the whole party and the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country will embark on a new journey of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way and march towards the goal of the second centenary struggle. While watching the opening session, warm applause broke out from time to time, and all party members watched attentively and took notes carefully.
After listening to the report made by the General Secretary, all said that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s the report is rich in content, exciting, appealing, cordial and inspiring. All praised that the report looks far ahead and aim high; the report serves a link between past and future; the report takes over from the past and sets a new course for the future; the report expresses the heartfelt aspirations of the party and the people; the reports reflects the theme of the times and the people's desire for development.
After watching the opening session of the 20th CPC National Congress, the student party members of the Film College enthusiastically wrote down their thoughts and feelings from studying General Secretary Xi Jinping’s report in the context of their own situations.
