The 4th "Pear Blossom Cup" Chinese Opera Education and Teaching Achievements Showcase for Youth, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and organized by the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, has recently announced the shortlist. Seven students from the College of Chinese Opera of Shanghai Theatre Academy, namely, Liu Ruixue, Ruan Dengyue, Li Tongsheng, Wang Zhixian, Liu Yuanchao, Zheng Jingjing and Liu Bozhu, were successfully selected for the shortlist, with the selected plays being Peking Opera "Hu’s Village" (Hujiazhuang), "The Unicorn" (Tongtianxi), "Eight Big Hammers" (Badachui), "Bamboo Forest" (Zhulinji) and "Silver Spear Fight" (Duihuaqiang) respectively.
