On 8 March, the paper evaluation panel of the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR) World Conference 2019 held the meeting in the conference room of the Zhongyi Building. The evaluation experts attending the meeting were Gong Baorong (Shanghai Theatre Academy), Liang Chaoqun (East China Normal University), Sun Qi (Tongji University) and Chen Ying (Shanghai Theatre Academy). The meeting was chaired Yang Yang, Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Zou Haoping of the International Exchange Center of the Shanghai Theatre Academy was the note taker.
The main task of the 2019 IFTR paper evaluation meeting was to conduct the preliminary review and classification of all submissions. To date, about 600 submissions have been received, including about 500 submissions from overseas. According to the reviewing opinions of the experts of the paper evaluation panel, most of the submissions accord with the theme of this conference which is "Theatre, Performance and Urbanization". The tests are all within in the scope of academic research, and the quality meets the selection criteria. Only a few of submissions have the problems of being too short and deviating from the theme set by the World Conference. In late March, the Preparatory Committee of the Conference will send letters of acceptance to all selected contributors according to the opinions of the experts of the evaluation panel.
The next meeting of the 2019 IFTR paper evaluation panel has been scheduled for late March, during which the evaluation experts will further classify the selected contributions into groups.
