On the afternoon of 2 March 2019, the Shanghai Theatre Academy Continuing Education Opening Ceremony in 2019 Academic Year was held at the STA Experimental Theatre. A total of 414 students from 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions as well as Taiwan and Hong Kong were enrolled in the 2019 cohort of the STA College of Continuing Education, including 215 students in the bachelor’s degree program for associate degree holders and 199 students in the bachelor degree program for senior high school graduation certificate holders.
The opening ceremony began with the national anthem. Tong Jie, a student of the College of Continuing Education’s 2017 cohort, made a speech as a representative of the seniors. Teacher Qian Minghua spoke as a representative of teachers. Liu Qing, Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivered a speech. The school flag handover was conducted at the opening ceremony. Ma Linhong, Executive Deputy Dean of the College of Continuing Education, handover the school flag from the hands of the representative of the seniors to the hands of the representative of the new students.
After the conclusion of the opening ceremony, an orientation session was conducted for the new students. The teachers with the relevant managerial roles in the College of Continuing Education gave a comprehensive presentation and interpretation of the Student Handbook with regard to the student status management system, teaching management system, performance practice management system and student affairs etc.
