The Shanghai Theatre Academy Awarding Meeting for Excellent Students in 2017-2018 Academic Year was held in the Duanjun Theater on Shanghai Theatre Academy's Huashan Road campus on the afternoon of 19 November 2018. Leaders of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Lou Wei, Huang Changyong, Hu Min, Zhou Yin'e, Zhang Weiling, Tang Litu, Zhang Jiachun and leaders of various colleges and departments attended the meeting and presented the awards to teachers and students who won the various honors. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Shanghai Theatre Academy. Representatives of the Student Affairs Office, Youth League Committee, student counselors and head teachers of various colleges and departments, as well as representatives of award-winning students, attended the awarding meeting.
Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, introduced the basic situation of student recognition this year. According to the relevant provisions of the Student Handbook of Shanghai Theatre Academy and in strict accordance with the procedures, in the 2017-2018 academic year, 1016 undergraduate students and postgraduate students were awarded various awards, of which 16 students received scholarships at national and municipal levels, 429 undergraduate students received comprehensive scholarships of Shanghai Theatre Academy and 284 received specialization scholarships; 132 postgraduate students received academic scholarships; 128 students received new student scholarships; 17 undergraduates received special scholarships for Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera.
Chief Accounting Officer Zhang Jiachun, Vice President Tang Lituo, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of Discipline Commission Zhou Yin’e, Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min, and President Changyong, read out the list of award winners of the “The Story Between Me and STA Motto” writing competition, award evaluation decisions and list of excellent class head teachers respectively. All representatives of the award winners went to the stage in turn to receive certificates and take pictures in the exciting and inspiring music.
In the speech session of the meeting, Jin Ling, the representative of undergraduate students from BA Broadcasting and Professional Hosting 2015 of the Film and Television College, and Chen Xialou from MA Theatre, Film and Television Studies 2017 of the Graduate School, came to the stage in turn to make speeches. Pei Jing, the class head teacher of BA Painting 2016, gave speech on the stage as the representative of teachers.
In his speech, Party Secretary Lou Wei, first of all, on behalf of the party and administrative leadership teams, congratulated all the advanced units and individuals who were commended at the meeting, and expressed gratitude and greetings to all the faculty members who had worked hard and made selfless dedication for the sake of students' growth and talent cultivation. He put forward new requirements to the students. He also hoped that the class head teachers and all faculty members should listen more to students' thoughts, be good guides and fellow travelers for students' growth, and use their lofty beliefs, good morals and rich knowledge to guide students' growth and progress.
Finally, all participants of the meeting stood up and sang the school anthem witnessing the successful conclusion of the awarding meeting Teachers and students of Shanghai Theatre Academy will turn honor into motivation, never forget their original inspiration, and strive to speed up the development of Shanghai Theatre Academy into a domestically leading domestic and internationally first class art university.
