Six achievements of STA win the 14th Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award of Shanghai

On 14 November 2018, the 14th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award Presentation Conference and the 16th (2018) Shanghai Social Sciences Annual Academic Conference were held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. The conference was presided over by Xie Chao, Full-time Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations. Zhou Huilin, Standing Committee Member of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Director-General of Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Yan Shuang, Deputy Director-General of Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Party Secretary of Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations, delivered the opening speech.

Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award is the highest award of Shanghai for philosophy and social sciences commissioned by the Shanghai Municipal Government under the leadership of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee. After expert appraisal, public notification and then approval by the award committee, 607 outstanding achievements (individuals) were selected and awarded the 14th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award, including 4 awards for academic contribution, 125 awards for theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics, 438 academic awards for disciplines, and 40 awards for decision-making consultation and social services.

Six outstanding achievements of STA have won the award. The winners of the award are Professor Huang Changyong, Associate Professor Xian Jiqing, Professor Yang Yang, Professor Sun Huizhu, Associate Professor Shi Yun and Associate Professor Ding Sheng.
