On the afternoon of 24 October, the press conference of the original drama "Song of Life" created by the Shanghai Theatre Academy was held at the Foxi Building at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Leaders of the Shanghai Theatre Academy including President Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min and Vice President of Liu Qing attended the press conference together with Zhu Weixin, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Jinshan District Committee. Key members of the creation team of the play and people involved from the Shangyi Drama Society also attended the press conference. The press conference was chaired by Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
The original drama "Song of Life" is co-produced by the Shanghai Theatre Academy, the Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Jinshan District Committee and the Shanghai Shangyi Dram Society., and will be staged at the Shanghai Theatre Academy Experimental Theatre from 29 to 31 October as part of the “40 years of Reform and Opening-up Showcase” section of the 20th China Shanghai International Arts Festival ". The play was selected as one of the plays for the Script Support Program 2018 of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2018 and for the National Excellent Realistic Theme Stage Art Showcase , and was the major literary and artistic creation project funded by the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation in 2018.
The Shanghai Theatre Academy, the Publicity Department of the CPC Jinshan District Committee and the Shangyi Theatre Society formed a unique combination of co-producers. The three parties cooperated to achieve a sound integration of lively life materials, professional artistic creation and flexible production and operation, making a beneficial attempt for the prosperous development of Shanghai's original stage plays, as well as providing a way that is worth exploring continuously for the production of plays in the new era.
