Respecting and caring for the old is a Chinese traditional virtue. With the Chongyang Festival approaching, the Trade Union of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held its “return to mother’s home” event was carried out on 10 October in the modernized new countryside, Lianmin Village in Shanghai’s Chuansha County.
The retired staff of the Shanghai Education Trade Union and STA Trade Union totaling more than 20 people came to Lianmin Village in Chuanshai. The Pudong New District Government have redeveloped the local farmers' homes and villages into a pearl of the water villages full of poetic and humanistic feelings, so that they love their homes and do not leave their homes. This concept in the new era to love and care for the homes fits perfectly well with the STA Trade Union’s people-centric concept to safeguard the legitimate interests of the people and enhance the aspiration of the teachers and staff to "take the university as home, love the university and respect the post".
During their visit to observe the achievements of the new countryside construction in Lianmin Village, they picked fresh vegetables and experienced the pleasure of cooking for themselves. In a natural environment that relaxed body and mind, they had a pleasant and heart-warming festival.
The STA Trade Union will remember each and every retire teacher and staff and invite them to “visit the home often”.
